Angela Lai

Angela Lai is an Assistant Teaching Professor in Biomedical Engineering at Tufts University. She was a postdoctoral fellow in the Edelman Lab on the Organ Design and Engineering Training T32 grant. She earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, and her B.S in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University. Her research background is specialized in blood-contacting medical devices and optimizing the interactions between biomaterials and blood to reduce thrombosis. Angela has extensive experience designing artificial lungs for extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and bridging research between clinicians and academic researchers.
