Roberta is a postdoctoral associate researching the interaction of biomaterials with the surrounding tissue to develop a device that is able to sense the tissue response to implants. She received her BS degree in Chemical Engineering from UFMG (Brazil) and her PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Colorado State University, where she focused on developing surface modification on titanium to improve blood compatibility and antibacterial properties. Outside the lab, she enjoys hiking and cooking.
